Keith Urban Drops Live Recording of “Straight Line”: Channeling Tour Energy to Your Speakers
Today, Keith Urban, the Grammy-winning country star, has officially released a live version of his song “Straight Line”, captured during his High and Alive World Tour and released through MCA Records.
The original “Straight Line” debuted in February 2024 as the lead single from Urban’s 11th studio album High. Urban himself has described the song as a perfect opener for both the album and his live shows — a choice that sets the tone right from the top.
He reflects: “‘Straight Line’ just came from a feeling in the studio… the melody and lyrics came fast.” He adds that the recording perfectly captures “the spirit I want to create in the room when we play live”. On tour, Keith even stretches it out with an extended guitar solo, turning the standard 4:33 track into a nearly 7-minute live experience full of intensity and surprise.
His High and Alive World Tour, launched in May, has swept through Australia and Canada, and is about to resume in the U.S. — starting September 25 in Chicago, wrapping up October 17 in Nashville.
Adding to the excitement, Keith Urban is set to receive the ACM Triple Crown Award at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards — the first artist to earn the honor since Carrie Underwood in 2010.
