They say love knows no age – and Reba McEntire’s story with Rex Linn proves it beautifully.
Their First Meeting
In 1991, country music legend Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn both starred in Kenny Rogers’ TV movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. They quickly became friends, but at the time, both were focused on their own paths.
Parallel Lives
Reba went through two marriages, the second with Narvel Blackstock, with whom she shares a son, Shelby. After their divorce, she continued performing and acting, while Rex pursued his acting career.
Fate Brings Them Back
In early 2020, Reba flew to California to film Young Sheldon, where Rex was also acting. A dinner with friends became their first date – the moment Reba spotted tater tots on the menu. Rex nicknamed her “Tater Tot,” and she responded with “Sugar Tot.” Since then, they’ve called themselves “The Tots.”
Love Across the Distance
At first, their relationship was long-distance, with Rex sending Reba ice cream, steaks, and her favorite treats. When Reba’s mother passed away in March 2020, Rex was her greatest source of comfort. By the end of that year, they were rarely apart.
Love and Career Together
The couple has appeared in several projects together, including The Hammer, Big Sky, and now the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place. This year, they celebrated the fifth anniversary of their first date, with Reba calling Rex “the love of her life.”
