Alabama Reunion — Their Final Song Together ?

For decades, Alabama was more than just a band — they were a family, both on and off the stage. With over 75 million records sold, countless awards, and timeless hits like “Mountain Music,” “Dixieland Delight,” and “Angels Among Us,” the band defined a generation of country music.

But after years of touring and success, the group’s journey began to slow. Jeff Cook, the beloved guitarist and fiddle player, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2012. Though he continued to perform for a time, his declining health eventually forced him to retire from live shows. His passing in 2022 broke the hearts of fans worldwide.

Since then, Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry have kept a low profile. There were rumors of retirement, private family commitments, and even health concerns. Many fans believed they would never see the Alabama name on stage again.

But earlier this month, in a small studio in Nashville, the remaining members did something no one expected. Randy and Teddy reunited — not for a tour, not for the spotlight, but for something even more personal: a tribute song to Jeff. Backed by a few close musician friends, they recorded a track called “One More For the Road,” a tender farewell echoing the early harmonies that first brought them fame.

In an emotional behind-the-scenes video, Randy said:

“We weren’t sure we’d ever sing together again. But Jeff would’ve wanted this. Just one more.”

The moment was raw, honest, and filled with nostalgia. There are no plans for a full tour, but this recording — perhaps their final — feels like a closing chapter written with love.

Fans are now asking: Is this truly the end? Or could this spark one last surprise from the legends of Fort Payne ?

Lyrics

I was walkin’ home from school on a cold winter dayTook a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my wayIt was gettin’ late, and I was scared and aloneBut then a kind old man took my hand and led me homeMama couldn’t see him, but he was standin’ thereAnd I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers
Oh I believe there are angels among usSent down to us from somewhere up aboveThey come to you and me in our darkest hoursTo show us how to live, to teach us how to giveTo guide us with the light of love
When life held troubled times, and had me down on my kneesThere’s always been someone there to come along and comfort meA kind word from a stranger, to lend a helpin’ handA phone call from a friend, just to say I understandAnd ain’t it kind of funny that at the dark end of the roadSomeone lights the way with just a single ray of hope
Oh I believe there are angels among usSent down to us from somewhere up aboveThey come to you and me in our darkest hoursTo show us how to live, to teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of loveThey wear so many faces; show up in the strangest placesTo grace us with their mercy, in our time of need
Oh I believe there are angels among usSent down to us from somewhere up aboveThey come to you and me in our darkest hoursTo show us how to live, to teach us how to giveTo guide us with the light of loveTo guide us with the light of love
