A promise from the hard days
In the 1960s, before becoming the “King of Ballads” with millions of records sold worldwide, Engelbert was an unknown singer, traveling from pubs to fairs, performing on makeshift stages. One night, stranded in a small rural English town without money, the owner of a local inn not only gave him a free room but also invited him to sing at the town hall. An unexpected call decades later
Over 20 years later, when Engelbert was already an international star, he received a letter from that very town.
