For over six decades, Ray Stevens has brought smiles, laughter, and unforgettable music to millions around the world. From his Grammy-winning hit “Everything Is Beautiful” to the hilarity of “The Streak” and “Gitarzan”, Ray has always been more than just a musician — he’s been a friend, a light, a legend.
But now, it’s our turn to give something back.
On July 4, 2025, Ray suffered a mild heart attack and was admitted to a Nashville hospital. Doctors quickly acted, and on July 7, he underwent a successful minimally invasive heart procedure to repair a partially blocked artery. Thanks to swift care and Ray’s resilience, he was discharged from the hospital on July 8 and is now resting at home.
According to his team, Ray is in stable condition and receiving round-the-clock care. His doctors are optimistic, but emphasize the need for total rest. His scheduled shows at the beloved CabaRay Showroom have all been canceled for the month of July, with no immediate plans for rescheduling.
The silence has been noticeable. No video updates. No public messages from Ray himself. It’s unlike him — and fans are feeling it deeply.
This sudden health scare comes after what many thought was a triumphant return in 2024. At age 85, Ray released a new album, “Say Whut?”, full of his signature wit and heart. He returned to performing, even amidst talks of retirement just a year earlier. His spirit inspired us.
Now, in this quiet moment of vulnerability, we’re reminded that even the brightest stars grow tired — and that even legends need lifting up.
Messages from fellow artists and fans have poured in from every corner of the country music community:
“Ray made the world laugh when we needed it most. Now we’re sending every prayer back to him.”
“He gave us joy. Now it’s time we give him strength.”
This is a man who never stopped entertaining, never stopped loving his audience. He turned jokes into melodies and memories into legacy.
We don’t know when — or if — he’ll return to the stage. But we do know this: Ray Stevens is still here. Still fighting. Still surrounded by love.
And right now, what he needs most… is us.
🙏 Please join us in sending your prayers and healing thoughts to Ray Stevens. Let your words be the music that lifts his spirit, just as his music lifted ours for so long.
